Last Friday the 23rd of December at 18:45h the presentation of the book 'Gente Nocturna' (Nocturnals) took place by Ediciones Mutis in Cafetería del Centre (c/Girona, 69). The meeting with the author, Misael Sanroque, was very intimate and around 35-40 people were able to enjoy this theatrical play taken into a book format.

The eve, presented by Eloisa Faltoni, had a small debate about the play with the author and the editor, Alberto Rizzo, where the assistants discovered more about 'Gente Nocturna' (Nocturnals). In addition, a dramatized reading of a fragment of the play took place where Iggy Planas retook his role as Otto with the author, Misael, who portrayed the character of Max.

After the presentation, Iggy Planas stated this:

Yesterday's eve was an evening where I recovered Otto, my old friend of this personally well-loved play, though it was only by reading him.

The thing is, though it's bad for me to say it out loud, 'Gente Nocturna' is a theatrical play that deserved to be read even more than once because the theatre can also be read and this play is an experience that must be revisited to find new notes and appreciate much more details.

Reading is sexy, that's what they say, though everything is better with a small cup of wine... (look at the picture). And in this season there's nothing better than giving good literature, there's no better present than giving someone the chance to meet and imagine new worlds and stories.

This story is one of them, 'Gente Nocturna' is one of those plays needed for all those who ever felt lonely in company, all those who looked for caresses in Bohemian environments, love in dark bars with the same doses of alcohol and mysticism.

You can get your copy of 'Gente Nocturna' on Ediciones Mutis' website and, during the following months, in selected bookstores in Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, or Zaragoza. During this season, share literature... on Christmas, give 'Gente Nocturna.'

'Gente Nocturna', defined as a play of silences and gestures influenced by artists like Raymond Carver, Edward Hopper, or Frank O' Hara, can be purchased in selected libraries in Barcelona or via its website by clicking here. Don't miss your copy and return to the toasts in dark bars—maybe to remember, or to forget, that universe where Iggy Planas belonged back in 2019.
