Yesterday I returned from a very intense trip, yesterday we came back from Majorca after a gig and a weekend to remember. It's been a couple of days that will hardly be forgotten and there are many anecdotes, laughs and experiences lived during these last days on the island.

The main aim of this trip was to bring Capdepera's peoples a performance of our 'Lysistrata' for them to enjoy and, generally, have a great eve watching Aristophanes most famous play on stage; a comedy we also enjoy each time we perform it before different audiences and that we hope you have been pleased.

The show took place at 19h on Sunday the 11th of February in Capdepera's Municipal Theatre, with a great assistance that not only came from the village itself, but also from other parts of the island. An audience that filled the theatre with their laughter, attentive sights and also brought us their support and love for the ones performing on stage. Mainly and taking into account the place where we performed, I would say that this had been one of the best representations of the play during this last year, if not the best, because you were able to feel in general terms the good synchrony breath inside the theatre.

What is this play about?

Lysistrata (Greek: Λυσιστράτη "the one who dissolves the army") is Aristophanes’ most famous play.

We travel to Athens in 411a.C, in the middle of a war between Athens and Sparta that lasts for twenty year. Before the dark reality and stubbornness of men to keep on fighting, women, led by Lysistrata, will take a sexual strike in order to get that peace needed in Greek city-states. In the absence of making love... will they finish the war?

A Greek style comical utopia.

A million thanks to all the audience who were able to enjoy how Greek women end up with Peloponnesian war by doing a sexual strike. Thanks for the great acceptance, though some of us performed being sick and, as in most of this year's performances, we had to adapt the play to the theatre's features where we performed. It could be said that the final result was one of the best performances, where both the audience and the cast were able to enjoy the eve.

I also want to thank the rest of my co-starts for the well performed job; this was, under my humble point of view, one of the times when I felt more comfortable performing because a great complicity and professionalism could be noticed among ourselves, a result mostly on the fact of sharing this weekend altogether which helped to improve the comradeship feeling and good vibes already latent since the beginnings of this play.

I'd like to congratulate Alberto Rizzo too, who came with us to this trip as a lighting and sound technician and who had been welcomed as one of our kind in this weird dysfunctional family we were during the weekend. I also want to acknowledge the staff members in Capdepera's Municipal Theatre for all the help given and for ceding us such a great space for us to bring our play there. A million thanks for making us feel at ease!

Special mentions to Laia Cardona, Loïc Pascual and their family for having ceded us their house as lodging during the two nights we were in Capdepera. Thanks for all their patience, availability and help given during these days. It's never easy to have and coordinate a group of 10 people inside a house, thanks for being such good hosts and showing us Majorca's best.

In the words of Laia Cardona, director of this play, "this trip was the culmination of a dream." A million thanks for sharing this dream with us and making a magical and unique experience of this weekend.

Finally, I would like to take into consideration that the gig of this weekend has been the last one of Mar Izquierdo, our Calonice in the play, who we want to send them all our love and good wishes in this new phase she starts and who I want to give personally a sincere thank you to all she has brought to this play since minute one, independently of all she brings personally to the group itself.

The best present you could ever give us was sharing with us your passion, energy, effort and dedication on stage! Thanks for all this year and a half, and we hope to see and have you sooner than later!

A lot of kisses and congratulations to Mar Izquierdo in her last gig with us!

'Lysistrata' will take a small break after this journey since the beginning of the year, it won't be long, and we hope to come back soon. Anyway, I will keep you informed about the news, though if you want to stay tuned about this play, you can follow our accounts on Facebook and Instagram. If you work in a theatre, and you want us to perform there, you can contact us by sending an e-mail here. Heretofore what I've had to say in this post, see you in the next one!
