Yesterday evening, Sunday the 19th of May at 18:30h, Nou Barris' neighbours and people in the district enjoyed our 'Lysistrata', the most famous comedy of the classical dramatist Aristophanes, under La Coquera Teatro in Noubarris District Seat under the auspice of Nou Barris' Feasts.
What is the play about?
Lysistrata (Greek: Λυσιστράτη "the one who dissolves the army") is Aristophanes’ most famous play.
We travel to Athens in 411a.C, in the middle of a war between Athens and Sparta that lasts for twenty years. Before the dark reality and stubbornness of men to keep on fighting, women, led by Lysistrata, will take a sexual strike in order to get that peace needed in Greek city-states. In the absence of making love... will they finish the war?
A Greek-style comical utopia.

The play was received with good critiques of both the audience and the staff members and organizers of Nou Barris' Feasts, though there were some live small technical problems we tried to integrate as greatly as we could through improvisations. This play's track is quite noticeable, and we're able to solve these inconveniences without problems, almost naturally, which helps to work on stage.
Thanks to all the assisting audiences, noticing your love and joy brings a lot when being there, exposed before them. As an anecdote of this performance, I can tell that there were a couple of kids in the hall who, though they weren't old enough to watch this play (+18); since we advised their parents they decided to get them in, so those kids were the first ones who flooded the place with their laughter and innocence since the first scenes, and also the ones who enjoyed the most, they enjoyed as the kids they are. A special mention and thanks to the group of deaf-mute people who attended the play with their sign translator who was also with us on stage and who developed a wonderful job. To all those people who filled the hall up to the brim, a million thanks for their laughs, love, and support!

Final applauses of the play
I also want to congratulate the rest of my co-stars for knowing how to cope with the standards again and knowing how to react to the inconveniences. For knowing how to add to this play whose development is way longer than I might have expected, for working as a team and make the best of themselves even though in the previous moments of the performance, mostly due to the nerves, we act as a weird dysfunctional family and though there are some unpleasant gestures, we love and support each other unconditionally after all and that's what makes this play work day after day.
With yesterday's performance, our 'Lysistrata' is getting close to its end of season. There is still one last chance to enjoy this play at 20h of next Friday the 31st of May in Centre Cívic Drassanes within Festival Raval és Teatre. Free entrance with a contribution to Banc d'Aliments.
