Last Friday, peoples from Sant Adrià could enjoy our 'Homenaje a Lorca' (Lorca's Homage) in RefugiArt (placed in Sant Adrià's Refugi Antiaeri). For the first time, Sant Adrià's neighbours were participant of our play in a such magical place as a real air-raid shelter from Spanish Civil War. There were high expectations, the place had re-opened to audiences days ago, and they had put their expectations in this show to attract audiences, but finally on Friday the 6th at 21:00h and 21:45h, the shelter's light switched off and people began to delve into Lorca's universe. Finally, the acceptance was such that we had to offer a third show to receive the remaining audience who were waiting.

What is this play about?

'Homenaje a Lorca' (Lorca's Homage) is an initiatory tour around Granada's author and poet, where some of his less known characters appear. It's a proposal stated by dint of contrasts, with chiaroscuro as a place where magic lies, where anyone can be anything or many things at a time; and the blinding light, as an indisputable truth that burns and equalizes everything, where nuances are not allowed, just annulation and kept silence. A walk around topics like the impossibility of being, the complaints, the oppression of collective fiction or the mutability of conventions to see the world with new eyes.

Thanks to all the audience who came this last Friday to watch the play, having a devoted public contributing with their reactions and feelings to ease your job as an actor, making each show a different one, is something to be grateful of. The fact of feeling their closeness while you guide them blindfolded is a sensation which is difficult to explain with words, but at the same time is something thrilling because you notice how the rest of your senses (the touch especially) become more acute, and you're able to express them without words all the things this play is looking to express. In addition, after the last show, I was able to share some opinions with some assisting ones who remained there after the play, most of those things were good critiques and though there were some who didn't speak, I was able to feel on their sights that something inside them had been removed, and this play has shocked them for good, a thing I'm also grateful for in this career.

Considering it in the cold light of today, two days after the show, I also have to admit that the place where we perform couldn't be that suitable. This air-raid shelter from the 30s brought a magical atmosphere but claustrophobia as well, which added a plus of realism to this play. Actually, it's been one of the times during the long history of 'Homenaje a Lorca' where we felt most welcomed by the space we performed at.

I also need to congratulate to the rest of cast members for knowing once again how to keep up with the circumstances and making new audiences enjoy Lorca's universe with new eyes. Congratulations to all of you!

'Homenaje a Lorca' continues its trajectory, looking for new places and dates to be performed. From the time being, there are no shows programmed at sight, but don't worry, I'll let you know about the news, and you can also follow the play's fanpage to stay tuned.
