Award Ceremony of Barcelona's IV Premis de T.U (Bell Awards Gala)

Last Friday the 3rd of June at 19h the award ceremony of Barcelona's IV Premis de Teatre Universitari (IV University Theatre Awards), commonly known as Premios Cascabel (Bell Awards). This gala claimed once again the value of university theatre in Barcelona and the quality of the montages of the participant theatre troupes (Aula de Teatre de la UIC, Adaggio Teatro, Aula de Teatre de UB, Grupo Teatral Utopía and La Coquera Teatro) was a proof of it. Iggy Planas participated in two montages programmed during the different days of the festival (from 24/5 to 30/5): on one hand, 'Chupa-Escupe' (Gasping); on the other hand, 'Red Wolf'. Both plays counting with a series of nominations and prizes.

The jury in the awards ceremony concluded the following:

Iggy Planas declared the following words after receiving the prize with his colleagues:

"It's always good to be grateful to the critiques delivered by a jury or the same public assisting to a play. Though the job I performed with my mates and the reason we've received this prize is a job developed outside stages, without this previous that took us around six months we couldn't be able to represent what we've shown in these last gigs. It's quite complicated to work with more people, especially in the artistic spheres and, being this a job through eight hands, there were moments when we had to yield our personal opinions in favour of the common good for the play we're working at.

'Chupa-Escupe' (Gasping) is the result of many working hours, many changes, decisions and pooling, but finally it had become something beyond a simple translation; the adaptation task has been such that we had to agree on different ideas and different people, so this has influenced greatly into the fact that this play has a life on its own.

Obviously, there's always time to improve it, and surely it will be performed on a near future, but from now on we're satisfied with the job developed. Thank you very much for this prize and the recognition of our work, we promise we'll keep working to receive more and better critiques!"
