Last Monday the 3rd of April the award ceremony of Festival MUTIS took place at a Closure Gala in Barcelona's Reial Cercle Artístic. A gala where, for another year, the value and fundamental role of independent theatre inside the cultural sphere of any society was highlighted.
The members of Mamut Teatre came as guests to that gala, with no many pretensions nor expectations, because after the premiere of 'Final de Trayecto' ('End of Journey'), they doubted receiving any nomination or prize.

The surprise of the eve came when they discovered that 'Final de Trayecto' received a prize. The prize for Best Supporting Actress of the festival's independent section was won by Rita Ardiaca for her role as Rachel / The Woman in the play.
After winning the prize, the actress stated::

"Wow, that's great. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thanks a lot to the jury. Don't know, I didn't expect to win anything. [Applause] I want to thank my fellow mates. It's been kind of a 'wham-bam' process, and in two weeks' time we had it, a quite crazy process. I want to say I love this character. And thanks to Misael for trusting me. And I'd say that's all. Thanks a million!"
On the other hand, after the gala, Iggy said:

"Thanks to the jury for the acknowledgment of Rita's work, it's such a pleasure to share the stage with her and see her improvements.
It's been a hard month of March, but seems that April is blooming, – the proof is this prize.
With this one, there are two prizes that 'Final de Trayecto' has behind. Lately, my idea of prizes and acknowledgments has changed and for me, they only mean one thing… Now it's time for the real work!"
The rest of the Gala developed as expected: with many prizes, speeches that praised the value of the plays or troupes, a show with music and dances enlivened by the gala's hosts, and many funny and memorable moments that now belong to the assistants' memories on that eve. In the end, several pictures of the troupes were taken, and they proceeded to celebrate this fourteenth edition of MUTIS at some parties and/or dinners with the troupes.
