'Homenaje a Lorca,' premiere in Àtic 22

Yesterday, Thursday the 1st of June, we premiered inside the programmation of Teatre Tantarantana's Àtic 22 our singular 'Homenaje a Federico García Lorca' (Lorca's Homage) in a hot evening and with a reduced public (from around 15 people) who were able to feel first hand what is Lorca's universe about by walking with some less-known characters of Granada's poet and author.

What is 'Homenaje a Lorca' about?

'Homenaje a Lorca' (Lorca's Homage) is an initiatory tour around Granada's author and poet, where some of his less known characters appear. It's a proposal stated by dint of contrasts, with chiaroscuro as a place where magic lies, where anyone can be anything or many things at a time; and the blinding light, as an indisputable truth that burns and equalizes everything, where nuances are not allowed, just annulation and kept silence. A walk around topics like the impossibility of being, the complaints, the oppression of collective fiction or the mutability of conventions to see the world with new eyes.

Thanks to the audience who attended yesterday's premier, without you this play wouldn't be possible. I must say that, personally under my point of view inside this show, I felt that yesterday's premiere was one of the most intense performances, from the beginning to the end, that I experimented during the path of this play, three months. Probably, the fact of premiering this piece in Àtic 22 has motivated us to give everything on scene. Carry on with that, fellas, to make all the upcoming shows as intense as this one!

Also, at the end of the play we could share some opinions with some members in the audience who congratulated us for our work on stage and also praised the tasks of the director and dramatist, Alberto Rizzo. He expressed in gratitude to everyone that this play, already represented five years ago on the 75th anniversary of Lorca's death, since it's beginning it brings a series of values latent in the story behind to the table, but after this resurgence it's acquiring new values, nuances and a longer trajectory than when it was performed firstly, a thing that needs to be acknowledged greatly.
