Today we've premiered 'Los Fusilados' (Executed) far away from national stages, no more and no less than in Lisbon's FATAL Fest.
What is 'Los Fusilados' about?
'Los Fusilados' (Executed) tells the story of a singular group of republican soldiers on guard who, during a night in the Spanish Civil War's aftermath, find the chance to deflect when they have to take care of a truck cargo loaded with enormous paintings leading towards the frontier.
Temptation knocks at the door, they only need to make one of those big canvases disappear and occupy its place before dawn to make their wish come true, an escape to such desperation and such nonsense of a war that is already lost. There's a full moon, no sound is heard. Finally, hopelessness and treason will meet under a painting's shadow.
A million thanks to all the audience who came to the play for sharing a piece of our darkest history. Thanks to all my cast partners for pulling out all the stops in the representation, and thanks to the festival's organization for all the help given and for allowing us to premiere this play internationally.
We'll be performing it again, this time back at home, in Barcelona's CC Cotxeres Borrell next May 8th at 19h. We'll be waiting for you!
